PDR smoothing

Over time, the old methods for smoothing the car body have become obsolete due to the damage they caused to it. Today, new methods have been designed and implemented for this work, in which the damage to the surface is prevented by applying blows to the desired part.

For smoothing in modern methods, several devices are needed, all of which have the same performance. The advantage of using this equipment is not to damage the surface and color of the car. (All the activities of this equipment are applied on the inner surface of the car.) Hail killer adhesive tools, suction device, hot-buck device, colorless winder device, dotting device and rod smoothing (PDR) are such equipment. In the smoothing methods without paint, the damaged parts are repaired without paint, which causes the part not to be replaced and has a significant role in the price of the car. Because changing the fabric part causes the price of the car to drop. Other advantages of using these methods are preventing the cutting of double car parts, not opening the car parts in most cases, not leaving any corrosion effects and causing no damage to the car's paint.

Pointless dent repair is one of the methods of colorless smoothing and means the repair of the car body without color, and in cases where the damage of the car body is small and without the need to apply strong blows, the restored car body is used. The most important tool to perform this method is the pdr rod, which has a lot of strength and is made of steel with different alloys. These bars fix the unevenness of the bottom of the car well and prevent them from wavering. PDR rods are available in several models with efficiency in different parts of the car and are usually offered as a complete package in the smoothing equipment market.

PDR rods act as a lever, in this lever, the handle part is the place of application of force and the support part is the place of contact with the dent in the car body, and it has a different shape according to the damaged point. The other part of this set is the rod head, which transfers the power of the hand to the support, which, according to the skill of the smooth worker, eliminates the dent or damage. In this method, the smooth worker heats the inner surface of the part and after heating, removes the unevenness and leveling the part using pdr rods. Of course, without the need to heat the surface of the part, professional repairmen can discover the origin of this change of state and by applying a force equal to the amount that caused the depression in the opposite direction, they can return the body to its original state.
